These animals are 1,4 m high for the males and females and they are about 700 - 800 kg for the males and the females are naturally smaller being 550 kg. In their natural environment, these animals can live up to 25 years.

Both sexes have horns and come in the following colors: reddish brown to dark brown or black though males get darker as well as the females darken with age.
